Okay, we moved.

To a beautiful apartment that has three bedrooms, a giant backyard, one of the bedrooms has pocket doors, and, it's on the second floor. It's a three family house, and the is 103 years old. I'll get pictures of it for ya'll eventually.

The only things I don't like are the storage room, which has these redish-orange, old stains all over the walls and scratch marks and stuff. You just know something nasty went down in there. Not to mention the extra door to the hallway, which is right near this storage room, and has a tendency to rattle on it's own. Not like a draft from a window, like a person actually grabbed the door and shook it back and forth. I heard some footsteps too, but hadn't heard anyone walking up the stairs before that. They are very, very noisy stairs. So, who was playing with the door? The other thing I dislike is the shower, cause there's this shelf between the side of the tub and the wall, and water collects there then flows onto the floor. We had to tape the shower curtain to the wall and put a rolled up towel at the end of this shelf to avoid water getting everywhere. It's a very narrow shower, and I feel like I'm in a little box surrounded by curtain that's trying to eat me.

Aside from those two things the apartment is great. My bedroom is very spacious, and my closet is huge. I've already stuffed my storage cart, portfolios, box of winter clothes, shoes, and hung up stuff, and I still have tons of room left over. I feel like I've lived there for my whole life.

It's me, my mother, and my mother's boyfriend, Marc, living there right now. We had a hell of a time moving in. No one likes moving, it causes stress, and stress causes fighting, and fighting causes irritability and tension, and it really went downhill fast. I thought for sure Marc was going to leave, but I think his issue was just stress of moving (He's moved over ten times in his life), is still getting over his divorce, and I think something my mom may have said of did triggered his problems with his ex-wife. Is that okay? No. But Marc is only human after all. Everything is fine now, and I think his mood has even improved a little more in the last few days. His ex has rejected two kidney transplants, and his daughter decided to give one of her kidneys to her, (Something I would never let my child do), and his daughter has been in and out of the hospital like crazy because of this. Well, doncha know, his ex ends up dislocating her shoulder and lands her ass in the hospital in extreme pain. (Divorces are always 50/50, but his ex was a real bitch). So, the other day, Marc went and said to me, "Ya know Alex, just between you and me, she had it coming." (To make a long story short, she would say disrespectful things about him in front of their kids and never stood behind him. She's a diabetic, and never took care of her health and during their marriage spent most of her time in the hospital. How dare you put your husband and children worth having to constantly worry about you because you're so self destructive.)

Well I'm glad that you at least moved into, hopefully, a better situation. The problems that you seem to have mentioned can all be fixed though. A little contracting with a few fixer-uppers and you'll be set. o.O

So does this mean no more idiotic neighbors threatening your mom? That's wonderful! And the new place sounds like a lovely place to live.

Damn. It's things like that that make me dislike people. Oi...

I reject your reality and substitute my own!
I kind of know what you feel like about the apartment. I live in a house that was built in the 1800's and it has the tiniest shower that I feel like I'm boxed in. We also have creeky floor boards everywhere, especially on the stairs. There are stains on our ceiling and cracks in the walls in some rooms.I moved to this house about 2 years ago. I still love this house though. ^^

Hibiki: Kazuma is trying to kill me!
Aoi: I highly doubt tha... why am I holding a knife???
See, that's the thing. Old houses have a likability factor that makes you put up with annoying things like the shower. We have things like decorative hinges, old gas jets (that don't work anymore), fireplace style mantle and where the fireplace would be, it's replaced with wall. The woodwork around the windows is so lovely and the mantle has these little bow details on it. You can't not love this house.

Good idea. There are two things in an apartment that, no matter how old the house is, should always be updated regularly: Kitchens and bathrooms.

My house use to have a fireplace too, but it is covered up with a wall. :/ I want to move to a newer home, but we don't have the money right now. We live in a victorian home though, so it's kind of nice, but still not the best. We are trying to get the money to replace all the appliances and seal the cracks in the walls. I know what you mean though, the designs and woodwork on our stairs is beautiful.
